About Us

KYCA was founded on Thursday, 21st December, 1978 at an impressive gathering at Samaru Kataf in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as a voluntary, non-political, charitable, non-denominational and interdenominational organization. Thereafter the association was registered with Government on the 21st January, 1979 launched on the 7th April, 1979 and duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in October, 1996.

In 1981 land was acquired for the Building of the Association's Secretariat which is being developed to provide Conference facilities. The project has reached advance stage and pictures of the progress on the secretariat development can view our download page.

The association adopted a constitution on 13th January, 1979 which was later reviewed thrice to contain the aim which is UNITY IN EVANGELISM. The association could work with other governmental, and Non- governmental organization for the progress of the Nigerian Nation provided that the provisions of the Nigerian constitution are not violated.

The Association is organized into congress, Board of Trustees, National Executives Council, Zonal Coordinators and Cell Officials. There are also standing committees and subgroups who help to carry out Evangelistic programmes like outreaches, conferences, rallies, bible studies, prayer and fasting, retreats and publication of books. The Association is also engaged in socio-economic programmes/projects like the co-operatives, Agriculture and Rural Development, the Kataf History Seminar of 1981, Tyap Literacy and Bible Translation Project and the Atyap Community Bank Project which eventually started in 1996. Our Vision Statement

Unity in Evangelism

Our Missions

  • Soul Winning: Soul winning is done through Crusades, village outreaches, Conferences, rallies, Teaching Weekends, Personal Evangelism and conferences. These programmes are organised at Cells, Areas, Zonal and National Levels.
  • Discipleship/Training: The association organises discipleship and training sessions for Cell Leaders. This is a deliberate effort to equip the total man for the work of the ministry. In pursuance of her aim of training Christian and community Leaders the Association in partnership with the Icthus Christian fellowship (ICF) London, started a Leadership Training School (LTS) with resource persons from KYCA, ICF, and other Christian Leaders and Scholars.
  • Pastoral/World Missions: The association maintains one full time staff, the travelling secretary who is the Pastor of the organisation. He is always in touch with the various cell groups for counselling and pastoral care.
Members of the association are presently in missions outside our shores. Though not directly supported by the association, a fervent prayer is constantly being offered for them and other missionaries around the world.

Our Aim

  • To reach the unsaved in Kataf Land and beyond.
  • To strengthen Christians and to encourage them to responsible church membership.
  • To promote the spiritual welfare of the Kataf Man.
  • To work with churches and other Christian groups for the promotion of spiritual welfare and unity in Kataf land and the country at large

We Believe

  • The bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God.
  • There is one God the creator, eternally existing in three persons- God the Father, God the Son.
  • God the Holy Spirit.
  • In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ- He is the Son of God, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father.
  • In the second coming of Christ.
  • In the person and works of the Holy Spirit.
  • In the spiritually lost condition of people and the essential need for the repentance from sin and a 'new birth' by faith in Jesus Christ.
  • In the sacraments of the Lord's Supper and Baptism.
  • In the resurrection of all believers to everlasting life.
  • Prayer

The Kataf Youth Chrstian Association believes in the power of prayer. It is an essential part of our relationship with our Father. KYCA welcomes those who would like to pray for our ministry. An intercessory prayer covering has been and will continue to be a vital element of KYCA's mission.

Local Churches

KYCA is committed to facilitating the ministry of the local church and believes that fellowship with other Christians is essential to the spiritual growth of every believer.

Partnerships

KYCA believes that the Body of Christ should work together in unity of faith and purpose. God anoints each member of the body for different purposes. KYCA therefore seeks to build and foster relationships with other ministries and Christian organisations.
